GRASIA aims to create a UK-led, commercially viable manufacturing route for the production of graphite-silicon composite anodes that can deliver higher energy density and longer cycle life for next-generation electric vehicles, aviation, and energy storage.
The project will produce graphite-silicon composite powders, formulate anode slurries, and manufacture both coin cells and technical-grade pouch cells for testing at WMG (University of Warwick).
By demonstrating a UK-feasible graphite-silicon composite anode manufacturing process, the project will strengthen the domestic supply chain of battery materials, reduce dependence on imported supplies, and support the development of a sustainable infrastructure for the production of next-generation high-efficiency batteries.
